Our Partner and Director, Ms. Maria Raphael, was a speaker at the 3rd Digital Banking & Payments Conference entitled ‘’ “
Responding to Change | Empowering Resilience” which took place on the 14th of April 2021.
The Conference fathomed into the commoditization of Banking Services, the innovative Banking Models, the potential of new Payments, the incoming 3rd players (Challenger Banks, Fintechs) in the banking landscape, as well as the expansion of services in vertical markets (Retail, Telecomms, Health, Energy, etc.) through the development and adoption of new approaches, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative customer-centric solutions.
Ms. Raphael, Chair of the European Association of Data Protection Professionals (EADPP) spoke on ‘’The Interplay of the Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and the GDPR. Her speech shed light on the relationship between GDPR and the PSD2 specifically in relation to data protection in the two new kinds of payment service (providers) introduced by PSD2: Payment Initiation Services Providers (PISP) and Account Information Services Providers (AISP).
She also moderated the discussion between Bank Executives on ‘’How Customers & Staff influence B2B Banking & new Payments-Regulations, Privacy, Customer Loyalty, Mobile Channels.
The conference was held under the auspices of the Depute Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Association of Cyprus Banks, the Cyprus Computer Society, EADPP and other organisations.
